Power Connector- FT-100D

Hello All....
I want to make up an extra power cord for my FT-100D.
Does anybody know where I might purchase the FEMALE spade part of the connector, not the one that is part of the radio (MALE)?
Powerwerx only sells the connector which is part of the radio pigtail (I don't know why anybody would need one of those! )

Thanks for any help offered.
Darrell,

You can order the one you need directly from Yaesu/Vertex.

Description for Cord Connector is: FT-100D DC Cord Connectorm P1091081/Q50001. Price $4.25 US + S/H which was $4 for US
Description for the one coming out of the radio is: FT-100D DC Pigtail Connector. P1091082/Q50. Price: $2.15 US + S/H

Here we go again, but I'd suggest going with Anderson Power Pole Connectors.

Hope that helps. You should be able to buy whichever one you want from Powerwerx. Not sure of the price from them.

Thanks to Dick, John, and Ross for your answers to my connector question.

I'd suggest going with Anderson Power Pole Connectors
Anderson power poles, don't connect to the radio's pigtail plug. I need
the mating connector from the power supply cord TO the radio connector. The
supplied power cord has been installed in my truck and I want to be able to
use the radio in other locations, without having to remove the cable from my
truck. Hence the need for the connector to make up another power cord.
I'll contact Yaesu and order the proper connector.
Thanks again.

Well, the info I supplied was from orders I have placed with Yaesu, Darrell. So, feel safe in ordering them from Yaesu.

As for the Anderson Power Pole connectors, they are much better than the odd-ball connector that Yaesu saw fit to supply with the Yaesu FT-100D. They are easily installed and will give you more compatibility than what Yaesu has to offer.

I have included below a couple of web sites that will let you see what the Anderson connectors are like and how easily they go together. This is just in case you aren't familiar with them. I only say that because you commented that they will not connect to the rig's pigtail. With the Powerpole connectors you won't need the rigs pigtail. Just replace the connector that Yaesu uses with these and also add a matching pair to the cable coming from your battery. Use the 30 amp connectors.

Here are a couple of sites:

http://www.westmountainradio.com/supportrr.htm

http://pages.ripco.net/~ormos/sarc-ema-andersonpowerpole.html

Put Anderson connectors on everything and you can use the radio(s) anywhere you choose to use them.

Hope the above will help, Darrell. And I don't intend to insult your intelligence by suggesting that you've never heard of Powerpole connectors. It's just that you remark that the Powerpoles won't connect to the pigtail of the FT-100D. They will and they'll also connect to the wire coming from the battery.

Dick
