other than buying another rig and moving faceplate from base to

Hi Jim, there was a FT100 listed on ebay as a parts rig but it has
already been sold. I did a search of FT100's that have sold in the last
15 days on ebay and could not find it so it had to have been a little
longer then that. I would keep an eye open for a parts rig on ebay and
other ham related web sites. You could also get on 7.240 MHz on
Saturday and Sunday there is a swap meet starts around 1:30 AZ time and
put in a want for this item. Also on Wednesday nights there is the
WARFA swap net on 3.908 MHz starts around 7-8 PM AZ time I think.
Good luck, Al, N7IOH

Hi Jim...
It is about time for all of those 2 year old ft-100d
radios that have not had fan mods and oscillation mods
done to play out and provide a new faceplate for the
cost of radio for parts...Your idea of buying a good
conditions second radio and move one face between the
mobile and the shack is a good one too, however search
old archives about moving faceplates from one radio to
another? I remember something about having to maybe
reset cpu everytime the face is moved from one chasis
to another? Something to do with main cpu being in
faceplate but onboard chasis parts not ready for
sharing same faceplate with two radios?
-Heres hoping your need for a faceplate doesn't open
the can of worms abt manufactures refusing to sell
half radios for the theives out thr!
Happy FT-100ding
Good luck sourcing kaput vhf/uhf radios...for good
faceplate part...

Isnt the EEPROM with all of the alignments and internal settings
located in the faceplate along with the MCU or it's located in the
radio?
just wondering...
Hopfuly is in the radio, otherwise the use of two radios with one
faceplate will be such a pain, having to re-enter all of the
alignment data in the "hidden" menu for each radio?
