No power out on my ft-100

Hi,All
New to the group.
Can anyone help me? My ft-100 has no power out on HF VHF/UHF, when I looked at the inside I can't see anything that is burned and nothing smells burnt. I hooked up a swr meter to it and got nothing. I don't know what it could be. Can anyone help? And is there anyone who still works on this.
Thanks, Ron

Set the meter to display "ALC", set for SSB, and transmit into a dummy load. Does the ALC go full scale?

Message #33207 is a good place to start (read all the replies at the bottom), and it also mentions Burghardts Repair as a good place if you verify it.

Try a search on "no power" for other possibilities.

More details, please. For example, when you checked the voltages around,
say, the output stages, what did they say?

Does the green LED turn red on Tx?

Does the SWR indicator come on?

Have you tried a constant-carrier mode such as AM or FM?

And no, I don't diagnose FT100 problems (I don't even have mine at the
moment); I merely adopt a logical approach.

Hi I had this fault on mine. no tx on uhf/vhf.. I gave a friend to have a look at and this is what he found see below...

This tiny FT-100D came to me for repair; HF and 6M worked fine but there was no TX on 2M and 70cm. On 2M and 70cm, I noticed that 15 Amps was being sucked from the power supply when
the PTT was pressed, this led me to believe the VHF/UHF PA was working hard, however no RF output was seen on the dummy load. Upon closer inspection it was noticed that the coax cable
carrying the VHF/UHF PA output was not securely home in its socket. A firm push to the plug brought it home properly. VHF and UHF TX was now restored. A blob of solder was put on the coax plug's
outer jacket to prevent it coming adrift in the future. The photo shows the offending plug/socket. These radios keep getting smaller!

I guess I was lucky.... but this may be one of the cause's that peoples finals blowing in the first place.

worth checking out...I will post a photo of the connector shortly if I can get it off my camera

Regards

Hi..When no Tx is on all bands it is documented that certain smd resistors on the underside of the PA have changed value causing the swr safety to come-in even when swr is fine.. This stops the rig Tx'ing
I've seen a few threads on this matter on the forum so do  search
Of course check all the push-in RF plugs around the mixer and PA stages are fully 'home' in their sockets first.. as previously suggested
good luckTony G7WHK

There has been a LOT of talk in here in recent months (I know since at
least March) of FT-100s with no power out on HF/VHF/UHF due to a
problem with the ALC circuit.

When you key up the radio... look to see if your ALC meter goes up
pretty high. If it does... then go into the FT-100s "hidden menu" (press
the A, B, C buttons while turning the radio on). Goe to menu options
F11 and F12 (HF IC ALC and V/UHF IC ALC) and turn them up to 255
and save the settings (make note of what their original values are). Then
key up the radio and see if there is any power output. If there is... then
you have an ALC circuit problem.

Burghardt's in South Dakota repaired my radio. They replaced 6 smd
resistors. If you're comfortable with working with/replacing smd resistors
(and comfortable with taking the PA Board out since the 6 smd resistors
are on the bottom of the PA Board) or if you know someone that is... then
its an easy repair. If you're not comfortable doing these things and don't
know anyone that is... then Burghardt's is one place that I know of that
will still repair the FT-100.
